Cruise on the Mekong - trip of in Vietnam, Cambodia

A pleasure for the senses

From Vietnam to Cambodia. Since its birth in the Himalayas, the Mekong River meanders through China, Myanmar, Laos, Thailand and Cambodia before emptying into Vietnam. There is no better way to appreciate and feel the life that is concentrated in the Mekong, than navigating its peaceful waters; visiting its villages, admiring the serene beauty of the Cambodian temples and tasting the exquisite Vietnamese cuisine aboard the Heritage Line cruise. A real pleasure for the senses.

Itinerario

Day 1: Flight to Ho Chin Minh
Overnight on board.

Day 2: Ho Chi Minh
Upon arrival at Ho Chi Minh airport, transfer to the hotel. Rest of day free.

Day 3: Ho Chi Minh - Tunnels of Cu Chi - Ho Chi Minh
In the morning, transfer overland to visit the Cu Chi tunnels. In the afternoon we take a guided tour of the most emblematic points of the city of Saigon.

Day 4: Ho chi Minh-My Tho-Cai Be
We leave behind the hustle and bustle of Ho Chi Minh and transfer overland to My Tho to board the Jayavarman Cruise. While we savor the welcome cocktail the ship starts navigation. At sunset we bathe to take anchor shortly before reaching Cai Be and we are ready to enjoy the first dinner on board

Day 5: Cai Be - Sa Dec - Chau Doc
Every day begins with a relaxing session of Tai Chi on the terrace, just as the sun begins to dawn on the horizon. Then wait for breakfast. The day's journey begins in the bustling floating market of Cai Be a board of a traditional sampan. We return to the ship for lunch. In the afternoon we sail to Sa Dec, upon arrival we will visit Binh Thanh Island and its canals. Dinner on board and nighttime sailing towards Chau Doc.

Day 6: Chau Doc - Phnom Penh
After having breakfast in the dining room on the private balcony of our cabin, we visited the city of Chau Doc. Pleasant city located on the border of Cambodia. We visited the colorful local market, temple and the floating villages. We return to the ship for lunch. At mid-afternoon, we sail towards Phnom Penh. Possibility of taking cooking classes on board or simply relax while admiring the landscape that flows around us. Dinner on board.

Day 7: Phnom Penh
Phnom was known as the Paris of the East, retaining its charm and elegance today. We visit the city, the historical capital of Cambodia: the Royal Palace, the Silver Pagoda, the National Museum ... We have lunch in a charming local restaurant and then visit the Genocide Museum. We returned to the ship and after a short break we attended on the terrace an Apsara dance performance while they served us an assortment of cocktails. A unique experience at dusk to then dine in the light of the stars. Around 1:00 in the morning we set sail for Kampong Chhnang, 100km upstream

Day 8: Phnom Penh - Kampong Chhnang
Before the sun rises over the horizon, we sail down the Tonle River, being greeted by the children who bring their cattle to drink in the meanders of the Tonle Sap River. As we approach Kampong Chhnang we can admire their houses on stilts over the river. First by boat and then by land vehicle we visited the Aundaung Russey village. Next, by boat, we visited the wetlands, the houseboats and the fish farms of the region. We return to the ship for lunch as we sail through the snaking Tonle Sap towards Koh Chen. Return to the ship for dinner and sail to Phnom Penh

Day 9: Kampong Cham
We set sail at dawn making a stop in the village of silk weavers of Chong Koh. We return to the ship for a leisurely navigation through the Mekong villages enjoying the exciting river life from our private balcony or from the ship's terrace. We stopped to visit the village of Angkor Ban, where it seems that time stopped centuries ago. We return to the ship for lunch and continue sailing to Kampong Cham. Dinner on board.

Day 10: Kampong Cham
After breakfast and transfer overland to visit the temples of Angkor Wat Hnachey, located on the top of a hill overlooking the river, offers one of the most impressive views of Cambodia. Back on the ship for lunch, we witnessed a blessing ceremony by the monks. In the afternoon we moved in zodiac to the nearby beach to swim in the teacolored Mekong, a great experience. Next, we sail to Kampong Cham to visit Wat Nokor, a wat built within the ruins of an ancient temple that has a timeless history. We made several visits to the area and returned to the ship for dinner.

Day 11: Kampong Cham - Siem Reap
After breakfast we disembark and transfer to Siem Reap. We had lunch on the way and arrived in Siem Reap in the middle of the afternoon. Transfer to the hotel.

Day 12: Siemp Reap
Free day to visit the city. Accommodation in hotel.

Day 13: Departure Day
Transfer back to Siemp Reap airport to flight back.

Day 14: Arrival
Arrival at the home city.
